Kyra Minturn

 Kyraminturn Sedgwick was born August 19th, 1965. She is an American actress and producer. She is most famous for her role as the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson (TVN crime drama The Closer). For her portrayal of Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in 2010. The series ended on August 13th, 2012 after the conclusion of the seventh season. Sedgwick is also known for her part in Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sitcom Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was nominated to the Golden Globe for her role in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film credits include Oliver Stone's Born On the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000) as well as What's cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). She was also in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was an New York City native, the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald) who was teacher and family therapist, as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick VI, an investor in venture capital. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was Episcopalian who was of English origin. Sedgwick has stated that she's Jewish and is a part of Passover meals.
